During the 11th WIEF 2015 Gala Dinner on the night of the 3rd of November, the South African delegate sitting on my right invited me to attend the KWZ Natal province presentation the next day.
Having made an economic presentation on South Africa at the Asia-Europe Institute(AEI) in 2009 and almost going to Durban for the WYCC 2014 to accompany my son but had to cancel at the last minute due to an ebola-alert, I decided to attend.

A delegate had earlier indicated that South Africa had not experience a major economic impact from their association with BRICS. Despite the perceived lack of impact, a brief BRICS update were given during the presentation.
